Some “Me” Time

An Evening Walk…can be so rejuvenating.  It isn’t too hot as yet. The evenings are slightly breezy & pleasant. I decided to walk up to a nearby park today. Tiny beads of sweat formed o’er my face & I was exhausted towards the end, but when I sat down on a round platform built under a tree at the park, all my fatigue was lost.

I relaxed, looking at those gigantic trees & listened to the chirping birds that perched on low-lying twigs. The tranquility of a beautiful sunset, with evening hues spread across the sky captivated my mind. I smiled. Oh! How I wished the moment just paused for a while!

On my way back, I stopped by…for a sweet coconut water treat! :)

A walk along the coast

The sky appeared clear and the weather was slightly warm, but quite pleasant as the mild air was flowing softly, swaying the long, green leaves of palm trees that stood tall in a row. I walked along leisurely feeling the breeze. It was gradually turning humid, & there was a strange saline taste in the air as I got closer. Closer to the beach. I walked carefully, removing my footwear till I reached the shoreline. There was water all around. The confluence of sky & the huge deep sea, the waves hitting the coast, the smooth sand. All of that was so inviting. I was mesmerized. As if the whole burden of grief had vanished somewhere. Somewhere, deep inside the magnanimous sea. At once, I surrendered myself to that very moment.

The shores would touch my feet surreptitiously and then retrieve; as I walked along the coast for a long, long time. It would dampen my feet but not my energy. Trail of footprints formed behind me that got washed away, as I looked back once in a while. I wished, if life’s misery could be washed away too, just like those footprints on the beach. My hair got dishevelled, my clothes turned dirty & wet with all the sand & water but I did not care. I just did not wish to care. I let it be…

I was exhausted a bit after the walk. I sank into the sand at a distance off the shore & was amazed to see the brightness around. Thousands of people thronged the beach & I could witness all sorts of expressions on their faces. I observed them keenly while sipping my sweet coconut water. I made a castle there. A tiny castle of sand & the coconut shell. I would dismantle it and rebuild again. And, never realised how time flew by…

Not necessarily just people, nature can be our best friends too. It adds a new perspective to our otherwise mundane life.

Under the golden sunlight!

I long to walk along the blossoms,
Faraway, under the golden sunlight.
Misty morning & frosty breeze,
Tall grasses & distant fields.
A long solitary walk,
Under the open blue sky!

Rustling of leaves, chirping of birds,
Enjoying nature’s colorful delight.
I wish to walk faraway,
under the beautiful golden sunlight!

The stream of water flowing in abundance,
Off the hills, crossing several barriers,
I dream of walking along the bank,
faraway, under the golden sunlight!

These wintry mornings are incredibly beautiful when the warmth of sunlight is so sought-after. They inspire me & I truly desire uninterrupted long walks along nature’s bounty.

Monsoon coming soon???

Today morning as I woke up, I looked outside my window just to peek if the weather was cloudy. It was a bright sunny morning again & I was not too delighted looking at it, as I knew it would bring along a lot of heat, sweat & grime. But, to my surprise as the day proceeded there were thick grey clouds; slowly covering up the sparkling blue sky. My happiness knew no bounds. Childlike, I gazed at the hovering clouds that promised a heavy downpour. Just when I rushed out, I felt…those fat droplets on my hands, I looked up…then it poured on my face and then it rained …and rained hard. Ah!!! The smell was intoxicating, as the parched earth exuded after getting soaked in the magical rainfall. I sense the monsoon is around. Somehow, it’s in the air. The damp, moist feel which prompts its arrival. Trees & roads are all washed and they shine clear.

I love these monsoon times; when those dark grey clouds dance madly just to break open, listening to the rhythm of those pearly rain drops as they fall, getting soaked in every drop, splashing into muddy puddles; making paper boats and floating them (It brings back those childhood memories now), those violent thunderous stormy evenings followed by a silent-calm breezy night.  Monsoon times around & my craving for generous servings of tea and hot fritters begin whilst enjoying the rain outside at the veranda.

These are times …that one must feel & enjoy! Just surrender yourself to the monsoon this season & have lots of fun & frolic! :)

…and it poured!

I walk o’er the dewy grass,
bare foot & a bare mind,
clouds floating overhead,
heavy storm ‘bout to arrive,
the air so chilly…it makes me tremble,
tiny …pearly drops trickled down.
& it poured heavily,
soaking me and my parched soul!

Mighty flowers

The road was strewn with flowers,
a colourful stream of paraphernalia,
amidst the peril of heat & dust.
And I walked through them,
carefully treading not to crush,
the fresh flowers lay there,
wrought with crowning beauty.

I picked them gradually as the dusk set,
it was strewn all withered & laid lifeless!

Moonlit Night!

The trees are bathed,
and so are the lanes,
in a silvery sparkling moonlit night.
I gaze at it with wondering eyes,
as my heart heaves in sight.
It’s radiance dazzles me,
and I dance in the moonlit night.
Oh! Its beauty is cascading now,
& I am soaked in it all the more!

A collage

Shots taken from my terrace..these are my most prized possessions :) ! Bougainviliea, roses, money plant, herbs, a bonsai, marigold, Tuberose (yet to flower) and other flowering plants!! A pigeon was caught quenching it’s thirst near one of the pots :)

Little things like…

Listening to the chirping, twittering of birds, a sunny morning and the clear blue sparkling sky, the glorious flowers enveloped with dew & the stillness in the air, it’s fragrance ….makes me feel good!

I listen to the melody, gaze at the loveliness and feel content!

Goooooooood Morning everyone! Wake up and rejoice the beauty :)

White Herons

White herons spread their wings,
at the river banks,
fluttering and flapping,
to fly high…up in the sky!

Wading through the wind,
crossing the lakes, the wide rivers,
across the open fields.

White, feathered herons,
Fly high… up in the sky!

The huge armed Gulmohr Tree

Come Spring,
the carroty floral buds,
blossomed and swayed,
as the breeze shook,
leaves fluttering,
in it’s full youth.
The huge armed Gulmohr tree,
rooted firm and deep.

Come autumn,
the twigs and boughs..
all dry and arid,
livid & dismayed,
the leaves shedding slowly,
lifeless, it stands bare.
The huge armed Gulmohr tree,
rooted firm and deep.

Our life is like a tree, goes through different seasons; yet survives, sustains and continues to inspire. I love Gulmohr trees,(Delonix Regia, an ornamental tree) i remember having it in our yards before. On opening the windows, the breeze would flow in through the trees and fill in our heart and soul with it’s purity!

Wishing you all a great morning!

:)

Evening muse!

The lantern lit the dark street,
as the dusk slowly shadowed.
Birds rest as silent & meek,
in their nests, ready to feed.
Dreadful nights trailed behind,
in pursuit of crisp daylight!

A treat for your eyes!

I find it extremely curative to gaze through these lovely looking plants. It was incredible when I visited the nursery this morning. A riot of colors, all across wherever my eyes could rest upon; serving as a potion refreshing my tired mind completely. I bought quite a few to nurture them adding to my existing collections.

Good Morning Life!!!

Solitary I walk around,
through the fields…stretched boundless,
enveloped with mist and dew.
As it dawned…the rays take a peek,
lovely it is, serene and still,
old leaves fluttering… with the gentle breeze,
I pause, smell the air & feel the warmth…
while … the day opened leisurely!

Fall Morning

“As I look out of my bedroom window at another Fall (autumn) morning.
Sun is shining but the air quite chilly and trees so bare…
All there is left on them are the empty nests of the birds that once lived there,
they have seeked refuge on green pastures with warm air somewhere south,
the fallen leaves which have lost their green color have turned into yellow and orange,
Around the tree that once they flourished on, ending one cycle of life to begin another.”

How does it feel, when early morning you stir up to find a sweet little email sent to you by a dear friend? Yes, I feel the same …lucky and highly elated. It becomes all the more special when it’s penned down keeping you in mind :)

(J) Thank you very much for the above few lines, it made my day reading them!  Even if it was an attempt, IT’S BEAUTIFUL…so true, inspiring and straight from the heart.

Statue of high stature

After a long time, had a nice memorable weekend :) ! The weather was perfect and decided to take mom out…We cruised all the way to the beautiful statue amidst the Hussain Sagar Lake. It stood beautiful. Though, I was quite pained to see the edges of a beautiful water body/lake polluted :(

Wintry Mornings

When you wake up in the morning apparently to find yourself quivering, feeling lethargic …yet pleasantly warm …you know winter season has arrived :) … The fogs that refuse to steer away until afternoon sometimes, the sun hiding much behind, the chill, and of course the warmth one feels under the warm clothings is all so wonderful. Much later when the sparkling sunny rays sneak and clear the fog, you feel the intensity and that’s terrific. You strangely feel cosy. That’s a winter morning for you… a season between autumn and spring, a season with shorter days and longer nights! A season for blossoms…a season for snowfall…a season for celebrations!

We all must learn to enjoy each season the way it is meant to be. Several mugs of hot beverages, fire place, and curled up in the comforter with a book may be… is all I want in a chilly dusky weather. And, do not miss the moonlight in a cold wintry night, it’s incredibly beautiful!

As Henry David Thoreau (An American Author) says, “Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each”

Rose

Bud

Blossom

How exotic it looks, how divine it smells,
the beautiful rose & its intoxicating spells!
When coated with dew, it’s fresh & pearly;
as it blossoms its fragrance spreads!!

It’s beautiful around you, isn’t?

Gazing at the beautiful sky, the vibrant sheet of blue spread far and wide,
The warmth of early sunrise, sun rays when it bathes and pours in on you,
Dark greyish clouds when it floats and about to burst with tiny droplets in it’s cocoon,
Biig fat pearly rain drops sliding through the leaves,
soaking the earth that’s parched and dry,
intoxicating you with the smell…oh so delicious weather!
The classy green grass, twigs and extended gigantic trees,
twittering of birds, their flapping of wings up high in the sky.
Icy dewy breeze that smacks your face,
the insinuating incense from the bed of flowers,
you smell it, you feel it,,,it’s ever so ecstatic,
butterflies and the bees have never been so magical.
Looking at the countless twinkling stars in the night,
Oh so beautiful moon, sometimes half and sumtimes full,
Moonlit nights, the stream of light that enchants you,
A mild spring of water, flowing down the aisle,
The ever so enthralling hills and mountains,
& the imperishable valleys and dales.

Baby’s giggles, the way it opens its arms and reaches out to you,
it’s innocense and it’s sweet smile,
revive with all this and more, enjoy every moment as it grows!
