This is for a few eligible friends of mine who are a bit confused as to what to look for… in a right guy while choosing them as a life partner. I know, in arranged marriage it’s a bit difficult as the time frame to understand or know more about their would-be is quite brief ….while in Love marriages too it’s ruled out of late, since all in love would exhibit their coolest habits and hide their grey areas (in some cases out of fear of losing their partner & rest out of deceiving habits :p ). At least I believe that money, degree, swanky jobs and posts etc…& looks (minimum that you can desire is he is presentable) are very temporary and they certainly do not count in my list… so what does..?

  1. Should be a good human being.
  2. Should be sensitive towards your emotions.
  3. Should be loving and caring.
  4. Should be responsible enough.
  5. Should be very considerate and respectful towards his own parents and family (If he does, he surely would care for you).
  6. Should be there with you when you are in pain and distressed. Should sail with you through the tough times.
  7. Should be compassionate and accommodating to not only your needs and desires but others too.
  8. Should be supportive towards your decisions.
  9. Should love you unconditionally.
  10. Last but not the least of course, he should be completely committed to you.

It certainly may sound like a perfect 10 list, and not all the above said characteristics you may find in one guy but trust me if a guy is not sensitive and caring enough towards you and your emotions; he is worthless and the chances of such a relationship getting weaker is pretty high!!!

A note of caution for those who may think I am being unrealistic: Well at least I have not mentioned that a guy should be muscular, should be fair & handsome, should know how to cook, should be able to look after house and kids, should be able to balance work and home etc etc. ….unlike guys who mention, “Sundar, susheel, gharelu kanyayein” (Pretty, decent, homely bride ;) hi chahiye in matrimonial ads & likewise…)

Relationships, any relationship for that matter needs to be worked upon…!!! The balance has to be created from both the ends to make it really succeed life long!!

The house was adorned with “toran” and bright marigold flowers in the form of garlands. Guests had started pouring in to rejoice the week long functions. Everyone in Sharma Jee’s house seemed to be busy with the wedding arrangements. Mrs. Sharma wore a bright yellow Banarasi saree with lots of gold ornaments and walked out perfecting her saffron color bindi and mogra. At the backyard where all kinds of savouries were prepared, she yelled at the “halwai” to make laddoos only with “shudh desi ghee” for her son’s wedding. Sharma Jee at the other end; was busy instructing and placing orders for various other wedding necessities.

It was an auspicious occasion at Sharma household after several months’ of stress, “vraths” and “pooja-paath” at Mata jee’s mandir in order to get rid of their only son’s past liaison with the Christian girl, Annie. They sought several remedies from their ancestral purohit jee, travelled far & wide to save their son from any sort of evil eye. In due course, their prayers were answered. Mrs. Sharma’s faith in God had strengthened galore as never before when Ajay, and Annie had parted ways.

About the play: Impeccable food, great wine, engaging conversation, soft music. What could possibly be missing in a perfect dinner gathering? Well… An IDIOT? Originally made in French, titled “Le diner des cons”, our adaptation begins with Sanjay, who – with the help of an “idiot scout” manages to find a perfect idiot to take to the dinner where the evening’s “guests” are poked fun at. Our enterprising protagonist, R.Golden Gopu, gets invited to one of those dinners. Gopu loves to build replicas with matchsticks, which seems to be the only thing he can ever do without causing pandemonium. As the chaotic evening unfolds, click here for more

So, when was the last time You met an Idiot? ;)

Life brings thy to a stage where all’s nothing but despair,
nevertheless, there’s hope and belief in each prayer…
hope that empowers thy faith, hope that gives thy strength,
the strength to love all & conviction to forgive all!

Seldom in life as we stumble & fall,
It’s He who guards us, and elevates us high,
He is omnipresent, He is Divine.
He makes sure that all’s fine!

With every daybreak, and every twilight,
We pray and thank, for the brightness in our lives…
With folded hands and hopeful eyes,
All we yearn for …is His blessings in disguise!

Slice of Life

Some time passed. The place, the people all continued to be strangers in disguise. She was entering into that tract of life which was uncertain, unpredictable and dismal. At times she would renounce under the given circumstances and muse over her decayed and chaotic past; the next instance she would wear a smile, a smile that promised all wisdom and progression and made her even stronger. Life was difficult but not impossible. All that she wanted now was to defeat life’s pace which had come to a standstill.

It was 2 years since they split. Arunima had moved to a new city, into a new dwelling place; hoping to begin a new life with newer challenges and optimism. It was a beautiful two storey independent house, surrounded with lavish palm trees…a much desired place of her choice. One of the windows opened to a spectacular view of mountainous chain and plush greenery faraway. The gleam on the palm leaves and the chilly air signified that it had rained the day before. Arunima loved the nature’s splendid abundance. She took a deep breath standing at the window sill, and rejoiced over her victory – a victory over self-esteem.

You trust…you believe… you love once in a lifetime! What happens when the trust ruptures, the belief is traumatized and the love is insulted?

-Simple! You still look for someone more trustworthy, loving and a responsible person :)

Well, last week a friend almost ridiculed me saying, “What?? Again Bangalore…it has become your second home now”..Seems to be quite true for me :D …however it was one of the craziest trips in recent times, boarding the train on saturday night, reaching in the morning and again back to train the same evening for way back home. A few of us amongst our friends planned to visit Ravi who is in India currently on a vacation. Last time during his trip from London he visited us in Hyd and this time we travelled to Blr. What a trip it turned out to be….an amazing one…Food, Fun,…shopping, al in a day’s trip.

Bangalore has some of the best places to hang out I must admit. I know the readers would find it weird but we indeed visited all these places in a day’s time ;) Pecos to try out the dosa & chicken( Superb), Amoeba to play games, Coffee House in Brigade’s road for the famous filter coffee, Hard Rock Cafe(Loved the ambiance’…and the Tortillas with sour cream), another cafe to try out the famous Toast and scrambled eggs. The guys later headed towards another pub and I had a fun ride with Rishi to Comm Street for some shopping…Phew!!!!!!!!! It was indeed tiring for all of us but had a blast in true sense!

Finally, this post goes incomplete without thanking Aunty(especially for her yummy Upma :) ), Uncle, rishi for the wonderful hospitality extended during our visit.

You know what you have to do when you feel things aren’t good around? Just pick up Abha’s tag :) It’s really awesome! Well am thinking now where should I begin from… to list down the 7 awesome thingz about me…or rather 7 thingz that make me awesome??? Hmmm…let me go point wize…

1. I am awesome because, I really love my family unconditionally and have always thought of ways.. to bring in happy moments in each one of their life through some or the other ways..be it a movie outing, lunch or dinner outing, buying presents(both for friends & family) randomly or planning special birthday surprises for them…! It’s a great feeling to see the euphoria on their faces.

2. I am awesome because, I am always there for my friends to hear them and help them out!! Friends are really important in life & I firmly believe that. They support you when you shy away from your family thinking that you do not want to burden them with your pain. Hence, I somehow ensure and pray that the bond never breaks…”Touchwood!”

3. I am awesome because I am a good human being(believe in humanity than anything else & that’s a trait I consider to be an important feature defining a good human being) who is compassionate, fun-loving, cheerful, and caring by nature :) … I do get sensitized to see someone in pain and agony.

4. I am awesome because I can sacrifice my happiness for the ones I love dearly. Yes, sacrificing is not easy, it requires enough courage and strength to let go of things which are very close to your heart.

6. I am awesome because I am not selfish and think about others too.

7. I am awesome because I get bashed by tough times in life and yet emerge as a stronger person who still has faith that “Life is not worth wasting time on imprudent things, it’s worth enjoying, it’s worth celebrating and it’s worth being an AWESOME person”

Thanks Abha :) to begin with this tag…it indeed gives an awesome feeling to jot them down!

One unpleasant incident in life; that’s life-changing is adequate to change a person’s perspective, and attitude towards others. They become more considerate, thoughtful and empathizing by nature.

Well, the pic says it all…. today’s evening was simply awesome. Dark clouds and my friend and I were drivin back home. We stopped by for some time to relish the moment. I am sure this is a cliche` post with monsoons all around but I could not resist :) . We had roasted makai and a cup of garma garam adrak wali chai…..

“P.N. : I know monsoonz is not all that good at some places like Mumbai and Orissa, where it’s just a nightmare :-( …i hope India comes up with better solutions to fight such disasters.”
