Don’t get too excited…its none of mine that I would want to publish at al
…it’s the first exhilarating experience of a PLAY that I watched. I never had seen one before, as an art lover I always wanted to watch one…and then thanks to my friend Aish who shared this piece of information that there’s a Theater Festival coming up in Hyderabad, and without even giving a second thought I nodded a yes! The excitement of first time was visible on our faces, we were rushing to the place in advance primarily for the tickets and secondly because it was our first time J We had two more colleagues who joined us for the play and it was great fun…We had no clue as to what it is all about except for the snippet that was distributed in the form of posters about all the upcoming plays for the season.
Love Letters…yes it was all about the journey of two characters that pass through various phases of life, childhood, adulthood, old age and even death. They shared their hidden feelings for each other, they wooed,,, annoyed and mollified each other, shared moments of happiness and sorrows, they discussed family, life, friends, love, hatred, jealousy, sex, marriage, children, sickness, death of near ones…everything that they possibly could discuss through letters, yes truly said a “dying art” in the play with the e-mails taking over the former. It clearly portrays Life in the most practical form that one can experience…could be one of our stories…All elements of life is wonderfully enacted in the so-well directed play and delivered so perfectly by such seasoned artistes; Rajit Kapoor (Of Suraj ka satwan ghoda, fame) and Shernaz Patel (Played mother of the protagonist in sanjay bhansali’s BLACK) both of them were just remarkable. The humor in the play was aptly stirred by the director and which made it more exciting. The flow of words, the performance, the intensity, the chemistry between the two was so perfect and flawless. Good plays always arrest your interest and keep you glued throughout and that’s what this play did…
Thanks to the entire play group for giving us such a wonderful time and an experience of a lifetime..I never for even once felt uninterested. I truly enjoyed my first play throughout…but unfortunately had to leave before the end due to my curfew hours at home…hehe!!
Festive Season… Hmmm we can smell festivity around…it’s in the air…with the onset of next season…with Eid and “Durga Pujo” round the corner…Its time for shopping, fun n frolic and family get togetherz. In this stressful life, thanks to these occasions which gives us a break from the routine and allows us to plunge into joyous moments. As a kid I always used to look forward to these festivals and till date relish and enjoy them… Eid -the month long fasts and prayers…giving alms to poor, iftars and sehers come to an end with an exorbitant celebration. New clothes for all the family members, sewiyan…feasts etc. The day starts with Eid ki namaz at nearby mosques…and the whole day long festivity continues cheerfully.
On the other hand…during pujo…which is a week long festival celebrated with so much vibrance, events, and devotion is also pretty exhilarating. I used to join my friends or neighbors group and visit the pujo pandals…, those creations of Maa Durga in various themes is absolutely spectacular. The long awaited bhog, snacks and other delicacies are too tempting…and inevitable..!
Well, festivals arrive and depart each year…but they leave back the happy moments shared together with friends, and families…for life long treasure!!
It’s really heartrending when your vehicle stops by at the traffic signals and you see small kids in tattered clothes, old disabled men, women sometimes with new born infants or sometimes with bulging stomachs…, extending their hands out for a meager amount everyday. At that point I just give a sympathetic stare at them…and may be if I have a few coins I dig them and give it out…But most of the times, I wonder if they are genuine enough…and think why don’t they earn their living…? Why do they have to choose begging of all?? Would giving them a few coins make a difference in their lives…or is this a business for them..??
These days looks like it’s become a huge racket, heard of stories that some influential people literally abduct kids, catastrophe their limbs and put them on streets for begging and by the end of the day they collect whatever is “earned” for the day.. . Don’t know how relevant it is…& not just that… in Hyderabad recently lots of eunuchs have occupied some signal points and have been harassing commuters with a compulsion to pay…!! I know it doesn’t make a huge difference to pay a small amount to them…but everyday….??? Are we encouraging them to take up begging as a profession by helping them…??
Often…I get coiled with these thoughts… everytime I encounter them and wish if this activity is completely eliminated and also hope if our government can take a few steps for their development…and rehabilitation..!
Kailasa’s Saiyaan……”"
Heere moti main na chaahoo
main toh chaahoo sangam tera
main toh teri saiyyan
tu hai mera ….saiyyan … saiyyan
tu jo chhoo le pyaar se
aaraam se mar jaaoo
aaja chanda bahoo mein
tujh mein hi gum ho jaaoo …
main … tere naam mein kho jaaoo
saiyyan … saiyyan
mere din khushi se jhoome gaaye raate
pal pal mujhe dubaaye jaate jaate
tujhe jeet jeet haaroo
yeh praan praan varoo
hay aise main nihaaroo
teri aartee utaaroo
tere naam se jude hai saare naate
saiyyan … saiyyan
banke maala prem ki tere tan pe jhar jhar jaaoo
baithoo naiya preet ki
sansaar se thar jaaoo
tere pyaar se tar jaaoo
saiyyan … saiyyan
yeh narm narm nasha hai…badhta jaaye
koi pyaar se ghungatiya deta udaaye
ab baawra hua mann
jag ho gaya hai roshan
yeh nayee nayee suhaagan
ho gayee hai teri jogan
koi prem ki pujaaran mandir sajaaye
saiyyan … saiyyan
heere moti main na chaahoo
main toh chaahoo sangam tera
main na jaanu
tu hi jaane
main toh teri
tu hai mera
main na jaanu
tu hi jaane
main toh teri
tu hai mera
main toh teri ………… tu hai mera
